Using our imagination begins at birth. Benny learned early how to use his imagination and when his first grade teacher gave the class their weekend homework assignment, Benny was a little worried because he had an idea but was unsure what to do. So he decided to ask his big sister for some help.

This is a heartfelt children’s story about how a child tries to describe what he saw in his imagination without fear of being laughed at. He learns that using his imagination is a powerful tool.

The Documentary History of the First Federal Congress of the United States of America, March 4, 1789-March 3, 1791

A comprehensive edition of all known official and unofficial documents pertaining to the First Federal Congress that launched our government and turned the words of the U.S. Constitution into the reality of a working government.

While working as a professor at George Washington University, Dr Depauw in preparation of the upcoming bicentennial, worked with 4 other associates, founding and coordinating this effort for the first book edition. Her contributions to the hard copy documentary which was published in 1972 included:

  • Vol. 1. Senate Legislative Journal  – Linda Grant De Pauw, Editor. Charlene Bangs Bickford and LaVonne Marlene Siegel, Assistant Editors. (The Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, 1972), 800 pages, ISBN 0-8018-1280-1.
  • Vol. 2. Senate Executive Journal and Related Documents – Linda Grant De Pauw, Editor. Charlene Bangs Bickford and LaVonne Marlene Siegel, Assistant Editors. (The Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, 1974), 592 pages, ISBN 0-8018-1572-X.
  • Vol. 3. House of Representatives Journal – Linda Grant De Pauw, Editor. Charlene Bangs Bickford, and LaVonne Siegel Hauptman, Associate Editors.

A mini online version of the documentary can be viewed here

The significance of this project is hard to truly grasp. Never before had someone tried to pull all the existing literary sources together into one exhibition and publication.

Acclaim for the DHFFC Volumes:

New York was the last state to ratify the federal Constitution before the new government went into operation.

This can be a good amount of text images etc. It should be a description that captures your audience and gives them the mouth watering desire to read the book.

I can start with the forwards of these and embellish them myself for your approval, or you start and I’ll make suggestions from a marketing perspective.😊

Include why you wrote it and some of the research techniques you used to arrive at your facts.

Excerpt from NY Times article for Remember The Ladies:

“Because we wanted to show what Revolutionary era women were like,” said Linda Grant Depauw, the exhibition’s historian. “It was a time when all women were working in the same occupations as men, and had equal pay and far more legal freedom and political rights than our own time. They were more liberated than at any time since.”
